The Living Room at Thorvald Meyer's Street 48

1875–1876 (certain)
Watercolour, pencil
Wove paper. 138 × 207 mm (h × b × t)
Comment:
The paintings on the wall are Peder Aadnes’ portraits of Edvard’s great grandparents, Peder Munch, who was a pastor in Vågå, and his wife Christine. These portraits can be found in a number of Edvard’s early drawings from the various flats in which the Munch family lived, but also in certain later works, such as "The Son", MM.T.00300.
