Hakloa in Nordmarka

1881 ( plausible)
Pen, wash
Wove paper. 161 × 241 × 0,21 mm (h × b × t)
Comment:According to Munch’s diary, he and a few friends had an extended stay at Hakloa in the forest north of Oslo (Nordmarka) in summer 1881. "We had a wonderful time at Hakloa, far better than expected. The people there, a husband, wife and three pretty girls were very nice and the service was good. After the others returned home, Sørensen and I remained another week to continue painting, [but] as it mostly rained it didn’t result in much." We do know of one painting from that trip to Hakloa (Woll M 18), in addition to several drawings.
