Comment:
Traditionally this drawing has been viewed in connection with the painting "The Music on Karl Johan" from 1889 and dated in accordance with it. Yet compositionally it is closer to the drawings from Karl Johan executed in 1882-85, among other things because the viewpoint is on the opposite side of the street compared to the painting. We have therefore chosen a somewhat broader timeframe, which also ties into the earlier drawings.
