Comment:On another page in this sketchbook, Munch has written: "The Milan Cathedral - a steep hill with frosty spruce trees - Proof of Italy's misconception of gothic style - a dream of Nordic art - and yet, I would not do without this lacework, which often resembles the adornment of a woman's underwear - it appears like a white dream of distant horizons."
