Small Male Head. Hermann Schlittgen?
1895–1898 (
plausible)

Wove paper. 117 × 195 × 0,16 mm (h × b × t)
Comment:
The drawing is most likely of Herman Schlittgen, but the round face is closer to the painted portrait from 1904 than earlier drawings from the mid-1890s. We have therefore chosen a more open dating, although the drawings in the sketchbook were made somewhere between 1890 and 1896. Hermann Schlittgen (1895–1930) was a German painter, printmaker and draughtsman.
