Comment:This drawing was probably made during the voyage to or from Antwerp in April - May 1885. On April 27, Munch travelled with several other artists on the steamer "Alpha" from Kristiania to Antwerp. For their return voyage at the end of May, they had to travel via Newcastle on another ship, as "Alpha" needed repair. (MB)
