This is one of the earliest preserved sketchbooks after Edvard Munch. He has devoted considerable attention to some of the drawings contained here. See for example the depiction of the drawing tools on page 8. We also find examples of his creative imagination and sense of humour, such as the nisse clandestinely smoking his father’s pipe on page 10.
