Comment:During quite a long stay in Paris from January 1896, Munch was commissioned to illustrate a de luxe edition of Charles Baudelaire's collection of poems "Les Fleurs du Mal". Alas, the person responsible for the commission died suddenly, and the project was shelved. However, Munch managed to make a few preparatory drawings. While the sketches in this book are rather loose and unfinished, others are more complete, such as MM.T.00402, MM.T.00403 og MM.T.00404. (MB)
