For an issue of the magazine "Quickborn" (1. January, 1899), August Strindberg wrote all the texts, and Munch made all the illustrations. This is the original drawing for the poem "Das Herz" ("The Heart"). The drawing is based on the etching "The Woman and the Heart" (MM.G.00037).
