Comment:
This drawing has two dates attached to it; on the reverse side of the drawing it reads 1881-83, while behind the backing board it reads, "Drawn at Fossveien 9 by Edv Munch / 1884". The former dating may be Edvard’s, the latter is most likely Inger’s, though both are added later. If the information regarding Fossveien 9 is correct, it would have to be 1883 or 1884. We have therefore chosen to date it "ca. 1883". (MB)
